Where is that schedule? I need to plan my weekend!

Well then it might be a good idea to head over to the band section of our site. The complete schedule has now been posted including time slots. Make sure to plan ahead and show up early for the bands you want to see!

But how do I get there? I cannot afford GPS!

If you have not noticed there is now a directions section to our site. You can access it by clicking in the bubble to the right! It highlights how to get to each of the spaces being used during MACRoCk. There will also be maps in our guidebooks that you can pick up with your badge!

Tickets and Questions

Head over to registration and reserve your ticket today. Save money on a weekend badge if you purchase it early.

We have been receiving a few questions about the online ticket receipt. The date posted is April 5th, but fear not as our system would only allow one date to be displayed. The only ticket available online for purchase is the entire weekend badge.

Haven’t bought that ticket yet? You will now, this is why

With the conference date drawing ever closer, The MACRoCk Committee is pleased to announce that almost everything is in order. There are ten showcases over the course of the weekend: six on Friday and four on Saturday. Each showcase is comprised of sounds in the areas of rock, mellow rock, punk, hardcore, metal, hip-hop, and folk. During the afternoon on Saturday, there will be four panels and along with the label exposition. Convinced? Here some more specifics:

Bands, Panels I know…. but where!

All of the spaces in the Harrisonburg community that will host parts of our conference are committed and excited to help support such a great cause. These participating members include: Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant, Clementine Café, Court Square Theater, Little Grill Collective, Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant, the Harrisonburg Masonic Temple, the Massanutten Regional Library, Memorial Hall, and the Harrisonburg VFW Hall.

Who’s speaking? What’s the deal?

Panels will be held in basement floor of Clementine Café and on the first floor of the Massanutten Regional Library and run roughly from 1PM until 5PM. The areas of focus of our four panels are Labels, Publicity, Publishing, and Recording. Participants include Grave Mistake Records, Parts Unknown Records, Magic Bullet Records, No Idea Records, Invisible Youth PR, Burning Bush Management, Give Me Back Zine, and RVA Magazine to name a few. Head over the Panels section of the site for full details.

Label Expo? Is the deadline past already?

The deadline for the label exposition has been extended to the 19th to allow for those in the mail to arrive. If you have not already sent your application, make sure you do it first thing after you finish reading. Expect many labels, distros, and art vendors to be showcasing their wares on Saturday afternoon. Head over to the Label Expo section of the site to see the list of participants thus far.

MACRoCk is back!
The Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference is always the first full weekend in April and this year falls on the 4th and 5th. Once again, mark your calendar for MACRoCk XI and a weekend full of showcases, panels, workshops, friends, fun, and you.

Major Changes:
MACRoCk has restructured as a completely independent non profit organization run by the kids for the kids. We are no longer affiliated with the University and have teamed up with the city of Harrisonburg to do an all downtown conference. By incorporating with the downtown area we are effectively creating a partnership with local independent businesses in Harrisonburg, which we feel exhibits the mission of MACRoCk itself. Ample parking and the ability to walk to each of the venues is also another main benefit as it has been cited as one of the biggest complaints in year's past that the venues were spread to far apart. Our spaces will include intimate restaurants and beautiful theaters a contrast from the large, open gyms and halls utilized when the conference was held on the JMU campus. We are very excited about the future prospect of this restructuring creating a self sustaining conference for all to enjoy for years to come.

Get stoked.
The first wave of bands has been announced. Head over to our Band section for more information.
