Panels
Panels are likely the most important and rewarding aspect about the Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference. Each year open discussions and talks take place during the afternoon of the 2nd day of the conference. Most topics deal with important issues to college radio and the independent music community. On occasion, topics branch out to various loosely related subjects like war, politics, d.i.y. ethics, and grassroots organizing. Please check back for more information on this year's panels.

This panel will feature technical and philosophical aspects to music production, in cluding how to record and master your music in a do-it- yourself format. Also, learn about various types of equipment used in the recording process to learn which techniques are best for you.

Record Labels

Representatives from record labels will explain the compli cated process of record press, promotion, and distribution. This discussion will include how to start a label, pressing releases in various formats, promoting/distributing releases, the impact of digital on labels, and the panelists' perspec tives on the music industry today.

Independent writers/artists will discuss creating/publishing their works and how to do so. Panelists will share experiences working in different media (both print and digital) and various genres, the advantages/challenges of each, and how others can disseminate their creative output to a wider audience.
